Our purpose and mission are aligned with the WA State and National PTA. In essence, to promote the welfare of youth, to raise the standards of home life, to secure adequate laws for the care and protection of children, to bring in closer relation home and school where parent and teacher cooperate in the education of the child, and to unite the community for the benefit of every child to their highest advantage.

Saratoga Dental and Orthodontics Elf Chase, a SW PTSA fundraiser - Sunday, December 3rd. The South Whidbey Parent Teacher Student Association (SW PTSA) would like to thank the following businesses and people who donated to The Elf Chase fundraising event on December 3rd. The money, gift certificates, advertising and food you donated, helped us raise over $4,000.00 for teacher and staff grants to help them purchase classroom supplies, field trip transportation, college preparation supplies and outdoor education materials.

Way to Go! South Whidbey High School is a recipient of the 2014 Washington Achievement Award. Washington Achievement Award winners are selected using the State Board of Education Revised Achievement Index and are based on statewide assessment data for the three previous years. South Whidbey High School is being recognized for: Math Growth and Overall Excellence. Great work!! Also, South Whidbey High school was recently ranked 9th out of the top 25 high schools for academic achievement by the WA State Board of Education! Also, we were 1 of 14 WA high schools recognized for our increased participation and great scores in AP classes in The College Board's annual honor roll! Pat on the back everyone!

SWHS PTSA recognizes students who earn a 3.5 GPA or higher for two consecutive semesters with a certificate.
Staff Grant Program
Each year SWHS PTSA awards grants to staff for some very innovative projects and fun classroom supplies.
SWHS PTSA awards scholarships to graduating seniors to continue their education.
Golden Acorn / Outstanding Educator Awards
In the spring, SWHS PTSA recognizes an outstanding volunteer and an outstanding educator who have made significant contributions to the education of students at SWHS.
Hospitality and Volunteers for SWHS
SWHS PTSA provides hospitality for many SWHS functions. We also provide volunteers for office help, school pictures, school barbecues, and other functions/needs.
Staff Birthday of the Month
SWHS PTSA provides a treat for all staff each month, highlighting those staff with birthdays in that month. We like to remind them we appreciate them.
Staff Appreciation Week
We do several things during National Teacher Appreciation Week in the spring to let our staff know how much we appreciate their hard work and dedication, including providing a wonderful lunch to the group.
